Modern gasoline engines depend (for performance and fuel efficiency) on high performance ignition systems that feature high voltage in excess of 40kV, and exposure to high heat in encapsulated assembly setups. Conventional HCR silicone compounds and EPDM based materials are increasingly challenged to fulfill the requirements of these demanding environments. Our Silicone specialty materials, such as Silopren* LSR 2660 ZKS and the addition curing AC 161 SPBK custom elastomer compound, have been successfully working in these demanding applications for many years, providing the necessary heat stability paired with good compression set, insulation properties and resistance to the corona attack under high voltage exposure.
