Consisting of 50% by weight methyl silicone in xylene, MX120B methyl silicone resin is  a great candidate for anti-corrosion coatings of objects subjected to very high temperatures, including:

  • Waste gas stacks
  • Blast furnace gas pipes
  • Blast furnaces
  • Cracking plants

As part of a topcoat of a resin coating system, M120XB methyl silicone resin can help provide exceptional protection to surfaces exposed to weather and high temperatures. Room-temperature curing formulations can be  developed to yield excellent weather stability and corrosion protection. Elevated cure formulations (150°C)  may display good resistance to oils, greases and gasoline products. Topcoats based on M120XB resin and properly pigmented can achieve exceptional thermal stability.

In anti-stick coatings, M120XB methyl silicone resin produces excellent release properties, making such coatings suitable for lining or finishing in applications such as:
