100% actives, OMRI and Ecocert listed silicone antifoam compound for non-aqueous fermentation

SAG* 5693 antifoam concentrate can help provide superior foam control during aerobic fermentations, including bacterial and fungal (yeast) fermentations, and maximize fermentor capacities through excellent performance and durability. It typically has no or low impact on oxygen transfer and, therefore, little to no effect on product yields. SAG 5693 antifoam concentrate typically maintains stability during sterilization with minimal loss in foam control which supports cost-effective operations. In addition, the product can be used in compliance with several U.S. FDA regulations for yeast fermentation and is Halal- and Kosher-certified, providing processors a wide range of regulatory status options to meet their needs.

Description

The required concentrations of SAG 5693 silicone antifoam compound are typically far lower than those needed when using oils to control foam. Due to the small amounts used in the fermentor, it does not typically interfere with downstream separation operations. Both factors can contribute to reduced manufacturing costs.

SAG 5693 silicone antifoam compound can be used in compliance with a variety of regulatory requirements, including the U.S. FDA regulations for yeast fermentation and sugar beet processing. It is Halal-certified, produced under the supervision of the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) in compliance with halal requirements. The product is also Kosher-certified and kosher for Passover sanctioned, manufactured under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.

SAG 5693 silicone antifoam compound is an excellent candidate to consider for a variety of applications, including the following:

  • Bacterial Fermentations
    • OC-Amylase production
    • Cellulose production
    • Xanthan gum production
    • Monosodium glutamate
    • Cycloserine
    • Bacitracin
  • Fungal (Yeast) Fermentations
    • Penicillin G
    • Bread Yeast
    • Citric Acid
