WATERFORD, N.Y. (January 5, 2017) – Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (“Momentive”) announced it will be demonstrating Silopren* LSR 4655 SL liquid silicone rubber live at the 2017 MD& M West show held February 7 – 9 in Anaheim, CA.
The live demonstration will take place at the Momentive booth on a BOY injection press using a Kipe 4-cavity LSR mold and 2KM Dosing system. The part produced will be a one way access valve with slit intended to illustrate the product benefits and features of the Silopren LSR 4655 SL liquid silicone rubber.
Silopren LSR 4655 SL is a two-component, self-lubricating liquid silicone rubber for injection molding processes that provides a lubricious surface on the molded part after vulcanization. It enhances lubricity for specialized applications requiring a high-slip surface not typically achievable via traditional silicone molded parts. Silopren LSR 4655 SL liquid silicone rubber may eliminate the need for secondary lubrication processes to reduce the coefficient of friction, which can improve the mounting efficiency of molded parts during the assembly of devices. It also is able to be customized in a range of durometers and lubricant load levels to meet specific performance requirements. Silopren LSR 4655 SL liquid silicone rubber is USP Class VI and ISO 10993 (parts 5, 6, 10, and 11) biocompatible.
