Niax™ Silicone L-3640

A lower-emission silicone, Niax silicone L-3640 is an excellent candidate to consider for producing both TDI and MDI molded foam, as well as modified TDI high-resistance molded foams. Niax silicone L-3640 can offer the superior stability needed for lower-stability formulations and the flexibility desired by formulators.

Description

This high-efficiency silicone stabilizer offers wide processing latitude with excellent foam stabilization. Niax silicone L-3640 can help to reduce foam emissions, which may be particularly useful in automobile interiors and other confined applications. It helps produce an open-celled foam with minimal shrinkage and low force-to-crush properties, along with superior shear-collapse resistance, even at the ventilation area.

A versatile silicone, it may also be considered for use with high-solids-containing polyols, as well as higher-reactivity polyols. Niax silicone L-3640 additive's performance generally is comparable to Niax silicone L-5309 in TDI/MDI formulations, where it helps provide similar foam openness, smooth skin and a consistent HR-type cell structure.
