SPUR+™ 1015 Silane

Easy application, excellent adhesion

SPUR+ 1015 silane is a silylated polyurethane resin used for manufacturing one-part, moisture-curing sealants and adhesives for indoor and outdoor use. Because it is manufactured without the use of plasticizers and has a manageable viscosity, it is more prominently used as a base resin for low modulus sealants in building and construction applications where good elastic recovery is required. With broad formulation latitude and easy application characteristics, SPUR+ 1015 silane generally does not require primer to provide excellent adhesion to multiple surface types.

Description

Silane-terminated polyurethanes have become increasingly appealing for use in the manufacturing of adhesives, sealants and coatings. Formulations based on SPUR+prepolymers typically feature fast room-temperature cure and freedom from bubbling during cure and allow a broad formulation latitude when compared to conventional polyurethane technologies.

SPUR+prepolymer can enable the formulator to use a wide variety of additives and adhesion promoters to optimize a range of performance needs that include:

  • Enhanced elasticity and durability
  • Primerless adhesion to many organic and inorganic, porous and nonporous substrates
  • Excellent chemical resistance, such as to automotive fluids
  • Minimal shrinkage
  • Exceptional weatherability
  • Paintability
  • Non-staining performance on porous substrates
  • Candidacy for clear adhesives
  • Lower VOC-formulated products
  • Does not contribute any unreacted isocyanates
