With its bis-silyl functionality, Silquest Y-9627 has shown to enable greater bonding and adhesion promotion in many instances than more common silanes. As a secondary amino bis-silane, this Momentive silane can be considered for use as a silane reactive end capper in select systems. As a methoxy silane ester, Silquest Y-9627 is fast-acting, enabling formulations to cure and build adhesion quickly. Silquest Y-9627 silane has proven effective when reacting to epoxy, urethane, melamine, polyamide, phenolic and furan thermosetting resins. It can also interact with thermoplastics, including polyamides and polyesters. Durable, water-resistant bonds are typically achievable when the silyl portion of Silquest Y-9627 silane is condensed with an inorganic surface and covalent bonds are formed with the resin matrix in composite, paint, adhesive and sealant applications.
