Silquest A-2120 silane can also help promote excellent adhesion to inorganic substrates, such as metal glass, and plastics, particularly when combined with SPUR+* prepolymer adhesives or sealants. In addition to inorganic and plastic surfaces, Silquest A-2120 silane also offers enhanced adhesion to inorganic fillers or reinforcements for a variety of sealants. As a difunctional silane, it can provide as much as a 35% improvement in elongation and stability in waterborne systems over trifunctional amino silanes. With polyamino functionality, Silquest A-2120 silane offers a reliable reactive site for amino-reactive resins, as well as good wetting of substrates.
It is an excellent candidate to consider for use in RTV silicones and hybrid silane-crosslinked sealants to strengthen adhesion to glass, steel, aluminum and concrete substrates. Silquest A-2120 silane can also enhance adhesion of polysulfide sealants to glass, aluminum and steel.
