Momentive Advances NRX™ and NXT™ Silane Technologies at Tire Technology Expo 2026

Highlighting materials innovation for efficiency, durability, and sustainability across commercial and passenger tires 

Niskayuna, New York – February 24, 2026 – Momentive, a global supplier of advanced materials and specialty additives, will present its latest high-performance silane technologies at Tire Technology Expo 2026 in Hanover, Germany at Booth C420.

Momentive will highlight two flagship technology platforms addressing key performance and sustainability challenges in tire chemistry: NRX™, developed for Truck and Bus Radial (TBR) tire applications, and NXT™, designed for passenger car tires. Both technologies are engineered to support improvements in rolling resistance, wear performance, processing efficiency, and material sustainability across multiple tire segments.

NRX™ Silane for Heavy-Duty Tire Applications

Momentive will intensify its strategic focus on accelerating growth with NRX™ silane, a recently launched technology for reinforcing silica-filled natural rubber formulations in heavy-duty tires. NRX™ silane is designed to address the traditional trade-off between rolling resistance and wear performance in silica-filled natural rubber compounds.

NXT™ P97 for Passenger Car Tires

Momentive will also showcase NXT™ P97, a next-generation mercapto silane developed for passenger car tire applications and particularly for EV-cars, where low rolling resistance, high durability, and noise-relevant tread stability are increasingly critical to vehicle range and performance. NXT™ P97 is designed to deliver high in-use performance, combining low hysteresis, improved wear performance, and stable die extrusion behavior to support both tire performance and processing consistency.

NXT™ P97 has been certified as a bio-based product according to ASTM D6866, with 79% renewable carbon content, supporting the development of more sustainable tire designs. These attributes may enable increased tire mileage, reduced tread depth, or lower material usage, contributing to a reduced environmental footprint over the tire lifecycle.

In addition, Momentive will showcase its FXP™ silanes for functionalized SSBR and BR polymer manufacturers, as well as its established Silquest™ silane portfolio.
