Responsible Care® is the global chemical industry's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiative to drive continuous improvement in performance. It achieves this objective by meeting and going beyond legislative and regulatory compliance, and by adopting cooperative and voluntary initiatives with government and other stakeholders. Responsible Care is both an ethic and a commitment that seeks to build confidence and trust in an industry that is essential to improving living standards and the quality of life.

Our Commitment to Responsible Care
Momentive is a member of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), and committed to the principles outlined under the ACC's Responsible Care® program. Members of the ACC have significantly improved their environmental, health, safety, and security performance through the Responsible Care initiative. Participation is mandatory for ACC member companies, all of which have made CEO-level commitments to:
- Measuring and publicly reporting performance;
- Implementing the Responsible Care Security Code;
- Applying the Responsible Care management system elements to achieve and verify results; and
- Obtaining independent certification that a management system is in place and functions according to professional standards.

It is the responsibility of the Momentive Board of Directors to ensure implementation of our Codes of Conduct. And it is each associate's responsibility to read, understand, and apply these principles to the performance of their duties.
