WATERFORD, N.Y. (October 28th, 2020) - Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (“Momentive”), a global leader in specialty chemicals and materials, is pleased to announce the establishment of the North American Center of Excellence for Silicone Elastomer’s Custom Compounding, based in Garrett, IN. This decision was driven by Momentive’s ongoing initiative to further streamline production processes and deliver best in class service to our customers and industry partners.

The Garrett, IN facility, a legacy site acquired by General Electric Company in 2000, has been the subject of steady investment by Momentive for the past several years - further expanding the production capacity, while employing state-of- the-art technological advancements to ensure best-in-class service and production capabilities that cover a wide range of custom compounding demands. Momentive has further underlined its core commitment to the custom compound industry through investments in the most advanced mixing equipment available. This approach has been taken to ensure support of both existing and new core specialty customers.

This Center of Excellence further underscores Momentive’s commitment to supporting the growth of existing and new customers in industries demanding specialty silicone elastomers.  The facility’s centralized location enhances the responsiveness and support our customers have come to know and expect.
