Momentive Announces New Pilot Scale Machine for Niax™ Polyurethane Additives

Brand new equipment available at the Momentive Laboratory in Leverkusen, providing quick and efficient testing on small batches of Niax polyurethane foam additives formulations.

Niskayuna, New York – 14 February 2023 – Momentive Performance Materials (Momentive) is announcing a technology investment in Europe - a new state of the art Pilot Scale Machine for the laboratory in Leverkusen, Germany.

With this new equipment Momentive will be able to develop and more efficiently test Niax slab stock polyurethane (PU) foams and additives and to prototype its products that are dedicated to the bedding, furniture, and automotive industry directly within the Momentive German PU laboratory.

The high-precision Pilot Scale Machine translates small batch production of the highest quality flexible foam directly into a large-scale manufacturing process. By creating small batch productions, it also makes it easier and quicker to assess features, specific properties, and quality of the polyurethane slab stock foam formulations directly in the laboratory, with precision and without any interruption of the actual production cycle or waste of raw materials from the full-scale manufacturing testing.
