Momentive Performance Materials Celebrates 30 Years of Science-Based Innovation in Liquid Silicone Rubber Technology

ALBANY, N.Y., October 18, 2011 — Momentive Performance Materials Inc. is celebrating three decades of science-based innovation in liquid silicone rubber (LSR) technology. The company’s Silopren* LSR platform was featured at FAKUMA 2011 in Friedrichshafen, Germany, October 18-22.

• An LSR-focused application development team - This team has made significant and advantageous contributions to molders and other customers, helping them to understand and utilize the Momentive Performance Materials platform with commercial success. Momentive has global application development centers, one in each key region of the world. “Two to three customers come to our Leverkusen, Germany center every week,” said Clemens Trumm, Global Leader of Application Service for LSR at Momentive Performance Materials. “Depending on the customer’s need, we can often deliver a prototype or a small series of new applications by sharing our product and processing know-how in LSR.
