Momentive to Showcase its Broad Technology Offering for the Protective Coatings Industry at ChinaCoat 2011

Industry-leading epoxy resins, polyester powder resins, silicone additives and Versatic Acid™ derivatives to be featured

Columbus, OH (November 9, 2011) Momentive, a leading global supplier of resins, additives and monomers to the protective coatings industry, will showcase the wide range of products available from its newly combined companies at ChinaCoat 2011, November 23-25 in Shanghai. Momentive provides chemicals and materials as diverse as epoxy resins and VersaticTM acids, powder coating resins and silicone additives for the industrial coatings market.

Momentive products featured at ChinaCoat 2011 will include:

• Epikote™ Specialty Epoxy Resins, Heloxy™ Reactive Modifiers and Epikure™ Epoxy Curing Agents, including environmentally suitable options such as waterborne systems that perform as well as traditional solvent-based systems but with very low VOC, as well as high-solids systems, an alternative way to achieve VOC reduction while maintaining high performance. Momentive’s epoxy products are backed by local manufacturing centers throughout the Asia-Pacific region as well as a dedicated technology center.
• Polyester Powder Resins for low temperature cure, gloss reduction and super durability in a variety of architectural, automotive, furniture and appliance coating applications. Momentive is at the forefront of developing polyester resin technologies for powder coatings including products based on renewable resources
• Versatic Acid derivatives such as Cardura™ glycidyl ester, which imparts superior appearance in low VOC, automotive clear coats and industrial coatings; and VeoVa™ vinyl ester monomer, commonly used in low odor, high scrub interior and exterior decorative paints. Momentive has proven its commitment to growth in the region by expanding its Asian manufacturing footprint. A new Cardura plant has just opened in Korea and a VeoVa plant is under construction in China for opening in 2012.
• Silicone additives, which promote exceptional flow and leveling in waterborne and solvent borne systems, adding gloss, smoothness, mar resistance and friction reduction to coatings formulations. Momentive silicones can also enhance corrosion resistance and promote adhesion of epoxy coatings to metal, while reducing VOCs.
