A lower-VOC version of Momentive's Niax silicone L-5614, Niax silicone L-5617 is typically added to formulations used in the mechanically frothed foam process. Niax silicone L-5617's ability to stabilize mechanically frothed foams makes shear-induced cell collapse less likely. At the same time, it can provide cell opening and reduce froth density for high-quality product applications. These features make Niax silicone L-5617 an excellent additive where lower VOC emissions are important.
