Niax™ Urethane Additives
Backed by more than 50 years of urethane expertise, the Niax family of urethane additives is a comprehensive portfolio of silicones, catalysts and process modifiers for polyurethane foam production. Our Niax additives have helped our customers develop foams that produce fewer VOC emissions, improve comfort or thermal insulation performance, and lower production times and costs.
To fulfill these customer expectations, our scientists have refined our formulation and production techniques to generally impart in each urethane additive a carefully selected set of features. For example, the various products in the Niax family can offer:
- Low viscosity for easy metering in cold temperatures
- Optimum cell stabilization in flexible PU foam blocks with minimum sink back
- Good froth stability
- Compatibility with a variety of PU foam machinery
- Resin compatibility
- Rapid resolidification, resulting in faster lamination speed
- Tailoring to meet specific flammability test requirements
- Consistency in foam properties throughout the structure
Niax additives have been applied to a wide spectrum of polyurethane-based products -from the slab foam in furniture and bedding to fine-celled foams for thermal insulation to molded and microcellular polyurethane for widely diverse applications. Niax* additive AP-01 foam adhesion promoter may be used with rigid polyurethane foams and may improve adhesion to substrates of foams.
Niax* additive RA-1 can improve green strength, dimensional stability and facings adhesion, and is an excellent candidate to consider in construction applications.
