Hybrids bring innovation solutions for thermal applications
N.Y. (October 19, 2016) – Momentive Performance Materials Inc. will feature ceramic powders that can advance the performance of plastics at K 2016 Trade Fair, Oct. 19-26, held in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The portfolio of powders include Polartherm*, CoolFlow* and CoolFX* hybrids and other ceramic products. These materials are innovative solutions for improved thermal conductivity, lubrication, nucleation and processing.
Momentive's CoolFX hybrid polymer modifiers are the next generation of materials to provide step-change improvements in cost and performance for thermal management applications. Developed to meet the needs of both OEMs and compounders, these hybrid fillers offer improved physical
properties and easier processing, with more consistent feeding versus traditional boron nitride fillers. Furthermore, these hybrid fillers can be a more cost-effective solution for thermal management applications, because they can achieve high thermal conductivities
at lower BN loadings. Compared with base resins, compounds made from CoolFX hybrid polymer modifiers typically have faster in-mold cooling and can be molded on shorter cycles, enabling improved press utilization and consequently higher productivity.
