Niax* Catalyst LC-5635

Low Viscosity, Nontoxic Catalyst

Providing a similar performance to Niax catalyst LC-5615 with an activation at over 70° C, Niax catalyst LC-5635 typically provides extended open time compared to Niax catalyst LC-5615 in particle binding, elastomer and mechanically frothed foam formulations. In addition to being nonhydrolyzable and having a low viscosity, Niax catalyst LC-5635 is a nontoxic catalyst - making it an excellent candidate to consider for thermally cured polyurethane resins, carpet backing and textile coating.

More About Niax* Catalyst LC-5635

Niax catalyst LC-5635 is a thermally activated catalyst, allowing for quick plastic formation and ease of release from any mold. Its reaction profile is similar to that of nickel acetylacetonate but with more delay.

Unlike other catalysts, Niax catalyst LC-5635 is nickel- and mercury-free, generally offering a nontoxic, more environmentally friendly alternative for thermally cured polyurethane resins, carpet backing and textile coating. Its low viscosity and nonhydrolyzable formulation may also increase ease of use and reliable performance. Niax catalyst LC-5635 can typically be used in conjunction with other catalysts as a means of reducing tin, nickel or mercury content, or for attenuation of reactivity.

Potential applications for Niax catalyst LC-5635 include:

  • Thermally cured polyurethane resins
  • Carpet backing
  • Textile coating
  • Particle binding
