A secondary aminofunctional bis-silane, Silquest Y-9627 silane may be considered for a broad range of applications to promote adhesion in coatings, adhesives and sealants between organic polymers and glass, metal, wood or cast plastic substrates. Silquest Y-9627 silane works as a coupling agent to particulate mineral fillers in composites to help improve mechanical properties such as tensile and flexural strength - even in high-temperature and high-humidity conditions.

More About Silquest* Y-9627 Silane

With its bis-silyl functionality, Silquest Y-9627 silane may demonstrate greater bonding and adhesion promotion in many instances than more common silanes. As a secondary amino bis-silane, it may be considered for use as a silane reactive endcapper in select systems. As a methoxy silane ester, Silquest Y-9627 silane is fast-acting, enabling formulations to cure and build adhesion quickly.  

Silquest Y-9627 silane has proven effective when reacting to epoxy, urethane, melamine, polymide, phenolic and furan thermosetting resins. It also can interact with thermoplastics, including polyamides and polyesters. Durable, water-resistant bonds typically are achievable when the silyl portion of Silquest Y-9627 silane is condensed with an inorganic surface and covalent bonds are formed with the resin matrix in composite, paint, adhesive and sealant applications.
