Momentive Demonstrates Latest UV Cure Silicone Technology

Released Friday, June 17, 2011
Stacy Guilford, Marketing Manager Healthcare, and Prakash Pawar, Application Development Engineer, demonstrate the benefits of Momentive’s Addisil* UV 60 EX elastomer at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East exposition in New York City. This new elastomer, which can be cured on demand by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, is an excellent candidate for medical applications where both lower temperatures and typical silicone rubber physical properties are required. The use of Addisil UV 60 EX elastomer offers additional benefits, including minimal shrinkage, reduced air entrapment, shorter cure times and the potential for significant cost savings from the processing advantages of extrusion without heat. It can be used with existing silicone extrusion equipment and common UV light curing systems. * Addisil is a registered trademark of Momentive Performance Materials Inc.
