Cascophen Series

Phenolic resin used for nonwoven coatings and bonding fibrous materials in a post cure cycle

Cellobond J20-1256LCELLOBOND J20/1256L is a thermal curing aqueous phenolic resole. These phenolic resins are used to impregnate fiber reinforcements in the manufacture of structural and decorative composites for the mass transit, marine, offshore and construction industries. J20/1256L has been designed for use in the manufacture of composites primarily by pultrusion and SMC processes where a high degree of fire safety, excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperature is required. The resultant cured composite exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/low toxicity” properties coupled with superior mechanical properties. These systems can be cured with acid catalysts such as Momentive’s Phencat 10, Phencat 15 or Phencat 382.
Cellobond J2027L

CELLOBOND phenolic resins are used to impregnate fiber reinforcements in the manufacture of structural and decorative composites for the mass transit, marine, offshore and construction industries.  The low viscosity (<500 cps) allows for various composite applications techniques and processing conditions, primarily by RTM and VARI automated processes where a high degree of fire safety, excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperatures is required.  The resultant cured composite exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/low toxicity” properties coupled with superior mechanical properties.  These systems can be cured with acid catalysts such as Momentive’s Phencat 10 or Phencat 382.

Cellobond J2042L

CELLOBOND J2042L is a thixotropic liquid phenolic resole resin.  These phenolic resins are used to impregnate fiber reinforcements in the manufacture of structural and decorative composites for the mass transit, marine, offshore and construction industries.  J2042L has been designed to be thixotropic in nature to facilitate the manufacture of composites by the hand-lay process, where a high degree of fire safety, excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperatures is required.  The resultant cured composite exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/low toxicity” properties coupled with superior mechanical properties.  These systems can be cured with acid catalysts such as Momentive’s Phencat 10, Phencat 15 or Phencat 382.

Cellobond Phencat 10

PHENCAT 10 is an acid catalyst.  The choice of Phencat catalyst employed depends upon the processing characteristics required.  Phencat 10 is a general-purpose catalyst for processes such as contact moulding (hand lay-up). Cellobond Phencat catalysts provide unrivalled performance, processing options and design flexibility in meeting the needs of the fabricator manufacturing phenolic fibre reinforced composites.

Cellobond Phencat 15

Phencat 15 is an acid catalyst and the choice of Phencat catalyst employed depends upon the processing characteristics required.  Phencat 15 is a fast action catalyst specifically designed for use in resin injection and spray application.  Cellobond Phencat catalysts provide unrivalled performance, processing options and design flexibility in meeting the needs of the fabricator manufacturing phenolic fibre reinforced composites.

Cellobond Phencat 382

PHENCAT 382 is an acid catalyst.  The choice of Phencat catalyst employed depends upon the processing characteristics required.  Phencat 382 is a delayed action catalyst that is activated at low temperatures, typically 60-80ºC.  Cellobond® Phencat catalysts provide unrivalled performance, processing options and design flexibility in meeting the needs of the fabricator manufacturing phenolic fibre reinforced composites.  Phencat 382 offers up to a threefold increase in pot life and reduced exotherm risk in isothermal RTM or press processes.

Durite SC-1008

DURITE SC-1008 is military specified to make glass cloth laminates conforming to the requirements of MIL-R-9299C, Grades A and B. This resin is designed to impregnate fiber reinforcements in the manufacture of structural and decorative composites for the aerospace, defense, mass transit, marine, offshore and construction industries. Various composite applications, techniques and processing conditions can be used to obtain a high degree of fire safety. Excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperatures is required. The resultant cured composite exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/low toxicity” properties coupled with superior mechanical properties.

Durite SC-467C

DURITE SC-467C is a medium viscosity phenol formaldehyde novolac solution in methanol specifically developed as a general purpose molding liquid that, when combined with a hexamine solution, will make resin cured composite type materials.  SL-467C can be used in combination with powdered phenolic resin contributing as not only a wetting agent, but lends itself to low dust mixes.  SL-467C affords good mixing and high bonding strength with hexamine.

Durite SC-644C

DURITE SC-644C is a modified phenolic resole part A in ethanol used to impregnate fiber reinforcements via pultursion technique in the manufacture of structural and decorative composites for the mass transit, marine, offshore and construction industries, where a high degree of fire safety, excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperatures is required.  The resultant cured composite exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/ low toxicity” properties coupled with superior mechanical properties.  These systems can be cured with various acid catalysts. It is also designed for pultrusion applications to be used in a ratio of 4:1 by weight with the 2026 part B liquid novolac co-reactant.  SC-644C is a part A resole designed to give excellent processing characteristics (low die build-up and improved surface finish) and high mechanical strengths.

Durite SL-524B

DURITE SL-525B is an aqueous phenolic resole resin specially designed to foam when reacted with acid catalysts.  These resins can be designed to either make open cell phenolic foam for optimum water pick-up and retention for use in floral foams or make closed cell foams for use as insulation foams.    These foams can also be used to create sandwich panels where a high degree of fire safety, excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperatures is required.  The resultant cured structure exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/low toxicity” properties.  These systems can either be heat cured or can be cured with acid catalysts such as Momentive’s Phencat 10 or Phencat 382.

Durite SL-575B

DURITE SL-575B is a modified liquid phenol-formaldehyde resole resin designed to impregnate fiber reinforcements and at the same time cure in a latent fashion in the manufacture of structural and decorative composites for the mass transit, marine, offshore and construction industries   The resin is modified and cured with an acid or latent acid at ambient or relatively low temperatures.  This product may be used in filament winding, resin transfer molding or hand lay-up applications.  It is a modified resin formulated to provide improved toughness and flexibility of the cured matrix and at the same time providing a high degree of fire safety, excellent mechanical properties or resistance to high temperatures.  The resultant cured composite exhibits excellent “low flame/low smoke/ low toxicity” properties coupled with superior mechanical properties.  These systems can be cured with acid catalysts such as Momentive’s Phencat 10 or Phencat 382.
