Dr. Jonathan Rich
Director, President and CEO
Jon Rich was elected a Director of the Company and Holdings, and appointed President and CEO on June 8, 2007. Prior to this role, beginning in 2002, Dr. Rich was President, North American Tire - Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and Chairman of the Board, Goodyear Dunlop Tires NA. At Goodyear he had previously served as, Director, Chemical R & D and as President of Goodyear Chemical. Dr. Rich began his career at GE in 1982 as a research chemist with Corporate R & D and progressed through a series of management positions and then on to become Manager of Operational Excellence at GE Silicones from 1996 to 1998. He was then promoted to Technical Director, GE Bayer Silicones in Germany from 1998 to 2000. Dr. Rich has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry from Iowa State University, and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. He has been published in numerous journals and publications, and has served as a Director for a variety of professional associations.
Edu Araujo
Global EHS Director
Edu Araujo was appointed global EHS leader in January 2008. He joined Momentive from Celanese International. During his 15-year career there he held a variety of EHS roles from the Safety, Emergency Response & Security Superintendent to most recently whene was the Global Safety and Health Leader. Prior to Celanese, he was President, C.S.E. Inc. a consultancy company that designed, implemented, and managed safety programs for petrochemical, construction, and manufacturing companies. Mr. Araujo has a Master's of Science degree in Occupational Safety from East Carolina University, a Bachelor's of Science degree with an OHS concentration from Charter Oak State College, and many academic and professional certifications in EHS, Quality, and Safety.
Steven Delarge
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Delarge was appointed as Chief Financial Officer on December 4, 2006. Prior to this role, Mr. Delarge served as Chief Financial Officer of GE Advanced Materials, a division of the General Electric Company. Some of his previous responsibilities with GE include serving as Finance Director-Greater China of GE Plastics, responsible for the financial operations of GE Plastics in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and serving as Finance Director for GE Plastics North America Commercial Operations. Mr. Delarge holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Economics/Finance and Government from St. Lawrence University.
Rachel Duan
President & CEO, Silicones - Asia Pacific
Rachel Duan was appointed as President and CEO of the Silicones Asia Pacific business in August 2008. Prior to this role, Ms. Duan served as President and CEO of the Silicones business in China, the position she previously held at GE Advanced Materials before its divestiture from GE. Ms. Duan joined GE in the U.S. in 1996 upon completion of her MBA and spent four years on GE's Audit Staff. In 2000, Ms. Duan was appointed Six Sigma Quality Leader for GE Plastics Pacific based in Tokyo. In 2002, she became the Commercial Director for GE Plastics China. From 2003-05, Ms. Duan served as Product Marketing Leader - Polycarbonate, first for China and then for Asia Pacific and, in 2005, she was promoted to General Manager - Asia Pacific Polymer. In 2006, Ms. Duan became the President and CEO of GE Advanced Materials' Silicones business in China. Ms. Duan holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Economics and International Business from the Shanghai International Studies University and a MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
Mark Irwin
Global Business Development Manager
Mark Irwin was appointed as Global business Development Manager in December 2006. Previously, Mr. Irwin served as Group Vice President and President of the Paper Services Division of Nalco Company since 2003. Prior to that Mr. Irwin held a number of business leadership roles in GE Silicones including Commercial manager for Australia and New Zealand, General Manager for South East Asia based in Singapore, Business Leader for Resins & Specialties at GE Toshiba Silicones in Tokyo, Japan and Global Business Leader for Resins & Specialties. Mr. Irwin has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Applied Science from Monash University, Australia, a graduate degree in international business from Deakin University, Australia, and a MBA from Victoria University, Australia.
Douglas A. Johns
General Counsel & Secretary
Doug Johns was elected Director of the Company and appointed as General Counsel & Secretary on December 4, 2006. Prior to this role, Mr. Johns served as General Counsel for GE Advanced Materials since 2004 and Senior Business Counsel at GE Plastics’ European headquarters in Bergen Op Zoom, The Netherlands from 2001 to 2004. His experience also includes work at the U.S. Department of Justice and in private practice, as well as fifteen years with the General Electric Company. Mr. Johns holds a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, a MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in history (with Honors) from Oberlin College.
Dr. Raymond Kolberg
President & CEO, Quartz
Ray Kolberg was appointed as President and CEO of the Quartz division on December 4, 2006. Since 2004, Dr. Kolberg had served as Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for GE Quartz. He joined GE Plastics in 1986 as an Application Design Engineer. In 2002, he was appointed General Manager for GE Advanced Materials Global Sourcing. Dr. Kolberg earned a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering from University of Michigan.
Joerg Krueger
Global Operations Leader
Joerg Krueger was appointed as Global Operations Leader in May 2007. Since 2002, Mr. Krueger had been Managing Director and COO of GE Bayer Silicones. Prior to that role he served in a variety of engineering, procurement and construction, and manufacturing roles at Bayer Corporation in the US, and Bayer AG in Germany. He began his career at Bayer AG as a Project Engineer. Mr. Krueger earned a Bachelor's of Science degree and a Master's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from University, Dortmund, Germany.
Mike Modak
Chief Commercial Officer
Mike Modak was appointed Chief Commercial Officer in July 2008. Mr. Modak joined Momentive from Honeywell's Specialty Materials business where he served as VP - Strategic Marketing & Business Development since 2006. Before joining Honeywell, Mr. Modak was a corporate officer at National Starch & Chemical, an ICI company. He joined National in 2002 as Senior Divisional VP for Health and Personal Care and later became VP - Strategic Development and Innovation. From 1979 - 2002, Mr. Modak progressed through a number of roles at HB Fuller Company. His early career included roles in sales, marketing and strategic planning. He later alternated between general management roles in various businesses and staff roles in the corporate development and mergers & acquisitions arena. He last served as a corporate officer and led the Industrial Products Group. Mr. Modak has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University and a MBA from Baldwin Wallace College.
Dr. Ian Moore
President & CEO, Silicones - Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India
Ian Moore is President and CEO, Silicones - EMEA and India. Until December 2006, Mr. Moore served as General Manager for the Silanes, Resins and Specialties. Ian has more than 20 years of experience in the Silicones industries including serving in avariety of management and functional roles. He joined GE in 2003 through the acquisition of the OSi business from Crompton Corporation. At Crompton he was Vice President of the Silanes Business, a position he had held since 1999. Prior to that, Dr. Moore held positions as Global Operations Manager for Crompton's Silanes Business and as Director of Engineering for Witco Corporations' Silicones Business. In these roles he was responsible for the implementation and startup of the Kirkpatrick Award Winning Direct TMS Process in their Termoli, Italy Manufacturing Plant. Dr. Moore began his career with Union Carbide Corporation in their Sistersville, West Virginia Silicones Technology Group in 1983. He holds a Bachelor 's of Science, Master's of Science and doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering all from the University of Manchester in the U.K.
Edward Stratton
Global Human Resources Leader
Ed Stratton was appointed as Global Human Resources Leader on December 4, 2006. Since 2002, Mr. Stratton had served as Human Resources Manager of GE Advanced Materials. He joined GE in 1981 on the Human Resources Leadership Program and held subsequent human resources roles at GE Motors, GE Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace in the U.S. and in Mexico. He joined GE Electrical Distribution and Control in 1992 as a human resources manager. In 2000, Mr. Stratton moved to GE Power Systems as human resources manager for the Aero-Energy business. Mr. Stratton holds a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Dr. Eric Thaler
General Manager, Technology
Eric Thaler was appointed as Global Technology Leader in February 2007. Prior to this role he had been Global Technology Leader for the Quartz business since 2003. Dr. Thaler joined GE as a Staff Chemist in 1989 at the GE Global Research Center and was appointed the Sealants & Adhesives' Technology manager at GE Plastics in 1994. In 1996, Dr. Thaler joined Accumetric Inc., where he played an integral part of the start up of a new specialty siloxane based sealants and adhesives business. He returned to GE in 1998 at GE Appliances and in 2001 he rejoined GE's Global Research Center as the manager for Appliances Advanced Development and Innovation programs. Dr. Thaler earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry, and also holds a doctorate degree in Inorganic Chemistry from Indiana University.
Shawn Williams
President & CEO, Silicones - Americas
Shawn Williams was appointed as General Manager of the Silicones Americas business on December 4, 2006. Mr. Williams began his career with GE in 1986 in the Technical Sales Program for GE Supply. He joined GE Silicones as Director of GE Sealants and Adhesives (GESA) Consumer Sales in June 2003, and was named General Manager of GE Sealants & Adhesives in September 2003. Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a MBA degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
