WATERFORD, N.Y. (October 6, 2016) – Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (Momentive) will feature new developments in hardcoats technology for the automotive industry at K 2016, the 20^th International Trade Fair for Rubber and Plastics. In addition to new digital printing techniques, Momentive will feature SilFORT* UVHC5000 hardcoat, SilFORT UVHC8100 solvent-less hardcoat and SilFORT PHCXH100P hardcoat for PMMA substrates.

Launched in early 2016, SilFORT UVHC5000 hardcoat, for forward lighting, addresses the market need for longer performing coating solutions by providing outstanding protection to clear polycarbonate parts against abrasion, chemical damage and degradation caused by UV radiation and weathering.  Since its commercial release, this next-generation hardcoat has been listed on the AMECA 5-year list and the 5-year listing at GM and FORD.

In response to growing industry demand for environmentally-responsible products, Momentive will also showcase SilFORT UVHC8100 hardcoat, which is a VOC-free, solventless hardcoat that can reduce the size of the coating line for automotive manufacturers. Additionally, Momentive’s SilFORT PHCXH100P hardcoat is a single-layer, thermally cured hardcoat that is utilized in exterior automotive glazing and can provide excellent gloss retention on black surfaces.
