Phenolic (PF) Moulding Compounds

Phenolic moulding compounds (PF-MC) are based on the first synthetic plastic – Bakelite™. This avant-garde invention, created from common earth elements, would revolutionize the manufacture of products on a worldwide scale. Household articles, such as radio or lamp cases that were traditionally made of wood or steel, could now be cheaply mass produced and molded into an infinite variety of contours and forms.

Today, Momentive’s phenolic moulding compounds are found in a variety of applications – from household articles such as pot handles, toaster parts and fittings for ovens and dishwashers – to automotive items such as brake pistons, lamp casings and pump parts.
