Solid & Powder Grade Resins

EPON™ solid epoxy resins are higher molecular weight epoxies than the liquid epoxy resins and are produced by advancement reaction from Bisphenol A. This product range includes solid resins of varying molecular weight and melting point. The main applications are dry blend powder coatings and solvent-borne lacquers where the cure is initiated from the secondary hydroxyl groups present on the solid resin backbone.

See the "Technical Data Sheets" section for information on individual products.

Application

EPON solid epoxy resins provide end products with high performance, high flexibility, abrasion resistance, sterilization and corrosion resistance suitable for a variety of applications. Solid resin products are used to make dry blend powder coatings used for industrial pipe and rebar protection, decorative appliances and in molding and electronic powders. Those resins are also used for the preparation of epoxy esters and of solvent-borne lacquers in combination with amino and phenolic modified co-curing resins. Those lacquers are typically applied in spray or in coil coatings for many industrial and packaging end use applications.

See the "Applications & Formulations" section for Starting Formulations and additional information.
