Momentive uses its sophisticated chemistry and technology platforms to help our customers create products with enhanced physical characteristics, increased durability and longer service life.

For example, adding a small amount of our specialty silicone additives help end products last longer and perform better, providing greater efficiencies in terms of product performance, cost and materials. Our specialty epoxies are used in protective coatings to prevent corrosion in critical infrastructure such as buildings, bridges and road supports, extending their use.

Our additives make our customers products work better

In many industry segments, our products help customers develop more efficient processes to create products that deliver equal or superior performance, but with lower impact on the environment through energy efficiencies and raw material management. Examples include products such as Silbreak* demulsifiers and Silwet* surfactants. 

We also work with industry educators, such as Green Builder® Media to hold educational webinars for our customers to help them understand the latest scientific research on our products -- which are their raw materials.

Our resins make wood composite products “green” 

As a leading global producer of formaldehyde-based resin systems used in engineered wood products, Momentive is at the forefront of industry-wide efforts to reduce emissions from these materials. Working to improve upon a new generation of resin formulations, Momentive has succeeded in producing sophisticated resin systems, such as EcoBind* resin technology, that allow our customers to meet the most demanding global standards for formaldehyde emissions from engineered wood products.
